  Founded over 320 years ago by a nostalgic former Rhine-dweller on the Simonsberg and Helderberg mountains, this historic estate was propelled from respected local entity to world champion standard-setter by experimentative, ingenious winemaker Adi Badenhorst. Gadget-obsessed owner Simon Barlow colluded enthusiastically, backing innovations such as aerial x-raying of vines to assess grape ripeness, and berry-sorting vibrator belts to grade out imperfect grapes.
