    Red Wine
Pitted with deep valleys and sheltered by the Aragonese Pyrénées, high-altitude, rough-textured Somontano (literally 'at the foot of the mountains', 130km north-east of Rioja) offers protection from bitter northerlies, Zaragozan dryness and Mediterranean humidity. Natural advantages exploited by the Otto Bestué family since 1640 in the village of Enate (they have the documentation to prove it). Lorenzo and Lorenzo junior O.B. now oversee 30 ha of Tempranillo and Cabernet. This crianza style (a year in US oak) is structured and fleshy, with rich plum / cherry fruit and toasty, spicy overtones. One for red meats and strong cheeses.
