    White Wine
The venerable history of the crusading, vineyard-resurrecting Hugel family, based in Riquewihr since 1639 (and owners of the world's oldest barrel, dated 1715), has in no way impeded the current generation from adopting new techniques in pursuit of finer quality. Their wines have an enviable reputation for consistency, Alsace classics that are the benchmark for the region. This rich, sturdy, full-bodied Pinot Gris was made from hand-picked fruit optimally ripened in an Indian summer. Only lightly filtered, it offers appetising aromas of orchard fruits, acacia blossom and slight smokiness. A wine for seafood, poultry or veal.
