  Rare roast beef deserves the company of this high-calibre Chilean Merlot, with its rich, vigorous black fruit flavours, given structure by 8 months barrel-ageing. Viña Tarapacá's 2,600 hectare Rosario de Naltagua plot lies in a loop of the Maipo River, 40 minutes' invigorating drive south of Santiago. Ideal growing conditions, notably cold nights and 89% Merlot, 7% Carmenere, 4% Cabernet Sauvignon.
