  Paolo Manzone's among the new wave of Piemonte producers: 'The Innovators'. At his 'azienda', spread out across the villages of Serralunga d'Alba, Sinio and Roddino, he insists on all vineyard operations and picking being carried out by hand, guaranteeing crops one-third less than the average and richly-concentrated grapes. His latest Barbera offers a mélange of juicy black fruit flavours, hints of bitter chocolate richness and a touch of oak. One for osso bucco.
