The antiquated nautical term for the source of drinking water on sea going vessels has the derived meaning of slang, gossip, chit chat, rumour etc. The site of this life- sustaining liquid on board was also the bed from which the grapevine of social gossip did sprout. As such, the chance to catch up with friends over a glass of good wine is the perfect occasion for Skuttlebutt. Vibrant cerise in colour with a violet hue bursting with the scents of ripe red-skinned summer fruits from the Merlot and Sangiovese components, whilst the Shiraz adds a subtle spice note. The palate is crisp, fresh and bright with a clean dry finish. Full-flavoured with very attractive light soft raspberry fruit, overlaid with crushed cherries and piquant spice.
