Colour: Lemon yellow with light green reflections and good intensity. Nose: A distinguished nose with delicate aromas dominated by exotic fruit, litchi, mango, spice and hints of rose. Aerating reveals grapefruit, passion fruit and ginger. Complex and splendid. Palate: Well structured, a good body and a splendid range of flavours - spice, ginger, exotic fruit, grapefruit, litchi, passion fruit and floral notes. Superb freshness with a beautiful long finish. Food Matching: An accompaniment to a selection of blue cheeses and candied pear with ginger. Hand-picked into crates. Whole bunches pressed at once before being left to settle on the lees. Fermentation takes place in temperature controlled tuns before being left for another 8 months on the lees. The Kitterle vineyard was given the nick name 'Calf-breaker' by the local vine growers who worked in the breathtakingly high vineyards on the steep slopes. This volcanic-sandstone plot is on unique site, on a steeply sloping rocky outcrop facing south-west, south and south-east. The light, sandy soil, which need to be retained by huge dry stones walls only gives low yields. 20 ha out of this 26 ha plot belong to Domaines Schlumberger.
